Ask and act on your phone
Two of the app’s three tabs are for getting things done. Ask is the assistant. Act holds your tasks and your automations.
Ask is a chat with the same assistant you use in my.studio. It greets you by name: “Good morning, Name! What would you like to know?”
- Open Ask.
- Type your question, up to 4,000 characters, or tap the microphone to dictate it.
- Tap send. The reply streams in.
Dictation
Section titled “Dictation”Tap the microphone and speak. Your phone’s speech recognition turns it into text in the box, in US English. Check it, then tap send. The recording itself is never sent to work.studio, only the text.
Conversations
Section titled “Conversations”The line under the Ask heading shows which conversation you’re in. Your general chat is the same one as in my.studio, so you can carry on from your laptop.
To switch, tap that line or the clock icon (Recent conversations). The Conversations sheet lists your recent chats, project chats and task chats. Tap one to continue it, or tap New to start a fresh chat. An automation’s conversation shows as “Automation · continue on your laptop” and opens only in my.studio.
Confirm what the assistant proposes
Section titled “Confirm what the assistant proposes”When the assistant wants to act, it shows a card. For each action on the card, tap Confirm or No. To turn down everything left on the card, tap Dismiss all.
You can confirm building an automation, creating a project or setting up a repository from the phone. Some actions need my.studio on a computer, and the card says so:
- “Building a view happens on your laptop”
- “Writing files needs your laptop”
- “Connecting an account is done on your laptop”
You can still tap No on those.
If you already answered the card on another device, it says “Already confirmed on another device.”
Act has two parts, Tasks and Automations. Switch between them at the top.
Your tasks are the same ones as in Tasks in my.studio.
- Tick a task’s checkbox to complete it. Unticking it doesn’t reopen it.
- Tap a task to open it. You see AI Insights, such as a suggestion or a draft response, and three buttons:
- Dismiss, after you confirm.
- Snooze: pick Tomorrow, In 3 Days or Next Week. The app reminds you at 9 AM that day.
- Complete.
You can’t create a task on the phone. Use Quick Add in my.studio.
Automations
Section titled “Automations”The list opens with a This Week’s AI Impact card that counts your active automations.
- Each automation says how it starts: AUTO-RUN when a schedule or a webhook starts it, RUN MANUALLY when only a person does. Tap it to see when it runs, for example “Weekdays at 9:00 AM”.
- Use the switch on an automation to turn it on or off. That pauses or resumes all of its triggers. If a trigger can’t be switched, for example because it belongs to someone else, the switch goes back and the app says why.
- Tap an automation, then Run Now to run it straight away, or Pause or Resume.
- The automation also shows its last 20 deliveries (when each arrived and whether it ran, waited or was refused) and how many are waiting on a paused trigger. The phone shows no delivery content; to replay a delivery or use it as a sample, use Flow or my.studio. See Deliveries.
To change what an automation does, use my.studio: “Use work.studio to edit automations”.
